Brushed Wild
The Guardian of the Meadow
He steps from shadowed trees
into snowmelt and bloom
where the meadow stirs,
soft with the hush of becoming.
Golden flowers bow as he feeds,
their petals trembling beneath his breath.
Sleet stops falling around him,
The sun starts to break through the cold
a reminder that summer,
in these mountains,
comes late and uncertain.
He carries more than hunger.
He carries the weight of his species,
The largest boar known in the region
The seasons ahead
Will shape his own story, his legacy.
