Into The Sound
Held Within
The cliffs rise so close they stop feeling like scenery
and start feeling like walls.
The water carries you forward
slowly, without urgency,
and somewhere in that movement you realise
you are no longer looking at the landscape.
You are inside it.
There is no horizon to measure.
No distance to chase.
Just depth. Enclosure.
I remember feeling settled there.
As if the noise I had brought with me
had nowhere to land.
Nothing was asking anything of me.
