Comments: The night we arrived to Victoria Falls, Simon and I were sitting outside on the patio having a meal and prepping our adventure. Christopher and his acapella group came over to us and started singing their songs. We were their only audience and they lit up the entire room. Simon and I listened to about 5 doo waps then Christopher set down a CD next to me and we invited him to sit with us for a while since his group was leaving the show. He was telling Simon and I about his musical dreams. We invited him to hang out with us the next day as we were going to Victoria Falls to see the water falling and the mist rising. The next morning he picked us up and we rode over together to the park entrance. Christopher was guiding us through and telling us stories about his home and the where the water comes from across the Zam to the Zim. We went from spot to spot to find the right shot. It was near the end we found what we were looking for and what Christopher wanted to show us. He told me to be careful of the rocks and not past the chain. It is slippery wert and its easy to get dazed by chasing the sight of the rainbow that can make you fall over the cliff. Simon pulled me back just as I was looking deeply over the ledge following that said rainbow in the air. Christopher stood between the rainbow and the water fall. He threw up his hands to me what felt like a peace sign. And in this moment, while seeing, experiencing, listening to the sounds, and shooting this portrait I knew deeply. This was going to be the shot the represented the entire project. Its mystical, its beautiful, its inspiring, and the whole world just froze in motion to the spirit of this project. This was it, this is the Moments of the Unknown. It's about that human beauty, the natural wonders, the mystic spirits, the love of the arts, the connection to each other. I felt that deeply in this portrait. As I reached my arm out to Christopher in the frame for being with us, sharing his presence in such a beautiful place he calls home. To be there with him and learn about him and where he is from and how special that is. Is what this project symbolizes. Pure presence and noticing the other in a deep and meaningful way. Respect the life we have, while we have time, in this wonderful world we live, while we are still here, and the people who dwell on this funny little planet. To see and bring out the beauty in others, to learn how to be in the world of understanding, to make this world a better place than before we arrived. To do good and take care of planet Earth, together. Our one true home.
