Comments: When I visited the tree of life in Victoria falls I met Brian and Prince selling their sculptures and trinkets along with dozens of their colleagues at the market they built there. Brian held up a chess board, and Prince held up a pair of Zebras that I thought created a heart shape space between them. It reminded me of a song I would sing to myself. It is a Bob Marley's song called, Zimbabwe, and I thought how perfect because I am finally in Zimbabwe. Let's play the music, and he sang out, "Every man got a right to decide his own destiny.... We come together to overcome the little trouble... To divide and rule could only tear us apart. In every man chest, there beats a heart." Chess is a game of mind, and art, well art is a sensation in the heart. And, when singing the Zimbabwe song, in Zimbabwe in the car ride home with Simon and Jacob, I felt a great sense of alignment. Where I would sing this song on my skate across New York City, little did I know I would be fulfilling this idiosyncratic prophecy that this song had urged me to visit the country itself a decade later. It is uncanny how our subconscious mind can guide our awakened state and propagate influences or ideals. In a way, singing that song over and over, because how it made me feel alive, inspired and human, led me here with Brian and Prince, where the elephants and zebras roam freely.
