GLAZE is not the same twice. The traits are drawn from the date, so it changes every 24 hours and will keep changing. What you see here is today. Enamel over worked metal, seen from close enough that the surface becomes the subject: ribs, arches, lamellae, spines, teeth, fractures, corrosions, lattices, cables, rings. Structures, never objects to recognise. One HTML file. There is no image inside it: the work is the code, and it draws itself in the browser while you watch. The light is not painted. It is computed per pixel. The alpha channel of the drawing is a height field: the filter reads the slopes out of it and lights them, with a distant light that holds the whole plate and a point light that walks across it. What you are looking at is relief, not shading. There is no black ground. The ramp of the material never reaches black: the shadow is a deep saturated tint and the light is another one. The colour is not an event, it is the regime. It changes every 24 hours. The date, Rome time, the same for everyone looking at it, gives two things: the seed of the composition, which decides the sign, the courses and the cells, and the traits of the day, which decide what the enamel is made of. Vitrified or covered, lacquered or crusted, how much thin film runs over it, which chromatic ramp it takes, where the light comes from and how hard it is, how much the machine is working. Same day, same work, on any screen. At midnight in Italy it remakes itself, even if the page has stayed open, and it will keep doing that.
