Block 0. The first block of Ethereum, woven. On 30 July 2015, Ethereum's Frontier release went live. Its genesis block holds 8,893 allocations: the first ether, handed to the addresses of the crowdsale. The ground cloth is woven from the block's own hash: it sets the threading, tie-up and treadling of an 8-shaft loom, so this pattern belongs to Block 0 and no other. The diamond is woven in as a brocade weft in six facets. Top and bottom, the hash as a punch card: all 256 bits. Woven on a simulated Jacquard loom, 160 × 240 threads.
