Untitled
I deliberately chose not to give this work a name.
Because what you see is not yet fixed.
The figure appears human, but it does not fully remain one. Its form subtly shifts; the face dissolves where it should become clear. The eyes are half-open — neither entirely here nor entirely withdrawn. I did not paint a moment of transformation, but a state suspended within it.
I chose an off-white, stained background on purpose. I did not want the figure to hide in darkness. I wanted the disintegration to happen in plain sight. I scraped the layers, disturbed the surface, erased certain areas. Because I believe identity is formed not only by adding, but sometimes by subtracting.
This work does not describe an ending.
It is neither collapse nor rebirth.
It is simply an interval.
And a presence that remains within it.
