An ongoing project consisting of painted portraits merging the macabre with the kitsch and 'poppy'. Each piece represents the masking of real emotions and issues whereby the figure is distorted and scarred, but the world around them is filled with bright colours and patterns, representing the image they want to show the world. All of my work is about the masking of mental health issues and addiction. The attempt of covering up the 'ugly' to fit in and give the impression that everything is fine.
