Their backs are turned to the viewer because this moment isn't meant to be witnessed, it belongs only to the two of them. The stark black-and-white contrast captures loneliness and grief, while the red carries the warmth of love and the unspoken bond between them, refusing to let it fade into the darkness. Why I made this / Artist statement: I created this piece because sometimes the deepest peace we find isn't in words, but in the presence of someone who simply understands without needing an explanation. This painting is for anyone who has ever run out of words, but had someone (human or animal) sit beside them anyway, quietly, unconditionally. It's a story about loss, healing, and companionship that asks for nothing in return a reminder that even in the darkest moments, if someone holds on beside you, the darkness becomes bearable. HADI
