Rite of the Unseen and Unspoken
See no truth.
Speak no fire.
And yet something always gives it away.
Sight is not a requirement for navigation.
When physical vision surrenders to shadow,
the intellect yields its demand for proof,
leaving only the quiet of blind conviction.
The way you are when full
of what you cannot say.
What cannot be spoken turns to blossom.
A crimson weight resting on your tongue,
protecting the sacred from being profaned,
guarding the truth against the wind.
Speech is often a leak of power;
silence is its sanctuary.
And every sanctuary has its offering.
The offering of the tongue,
the offering of certainty,
the offering of the self
that keeps begging to be believed.
Expressing a truth prematurely
only dilutes its weight.
So I bring my words to the altar
and leave them there.
Some fires burn cleaner
when they are kept unexposed.
Some passions grow deeper
when they are never given away.
But tell me what happens to the fire
when the offering becomes the self?
What happens to the body
when silence begins to feed on it?
The light doesn’t come from what is seen.
It gathers slowly from beneath,
built from the endurance
of everything that came before.
Unseen.
Unspoken.
Unbroken.
Until the dark is illuminated
by its own hidden fire.
See no evil.
Speak no evil.
Feel everything.
Say nothing.
To feel everything and say nothing.
To know everything and see nothing.
A good bargain?
Perhaps.
If the price is silence,
who collects the debt?
If the truth is sacred,
must it always be hidden to remain holy?
And yet something always gives it away.
The offering was never my life.
It was the lie that I had to remain blind
to keep the peace.
So let the darkness witness me.
See no truth.
Speak no fire.
But I see.
Eye see.
And this time,
I do not sacrifice myself to remain loved.
I sacrifice the lie that I must.
