Green Hour
Years passed,
And still, you remained.
Not as you were,
But in the touch of something familiar,
In a scent I could not place,
In the light that found its way through the window.
I buried what I could not bear to remember,
And called it forgetting.
But some things do not disappear.
They change shape.
Now I wonder
Which of us survived the other.
What did I do to myself
By trying to leave you behind?
