Comments: A hike to Wisdom Tree. You can spot this tree on the hill driving on the 101 highway just as you pass Hollywood into Burbank. A sacred place to me in Los Angeles. One of my favorite hikes and places to go to watch the sunset other than by Venice beach off Rose Ave. The first time I ever came to this place was after a San Pedro ceremony with a group of friends who were local to Toluca Lake. It was past midnight and we hiked up the hill in the dark and had a few microdoses. It felt like there was an intergalactic war going inside my body by crossing the spirits, something I learned was a bad idea and it showed me intense fear and how to face it. We made it to the top and there was an astrophotographer there tripping on LSD. A band of freaks and misfits meditating till sunrise and the moon set. This was the first time I ever felt the middle was being on Earth. I looked to my right and saw the sun, and I looked to my left and saw the moon, perfectly aligned on different sides of the sky. And here we are on Earth, with the only tree that survived the fires, right up at wisdom tree. I guess that's why it's called that, a survivor. After that trip, I come back during the day and hike this place every visit. And when I lived there at least once a month, and every time I learn something new. Its my favorite place to be in LA. A 360 degree view of the entire city, and you can even see as far as the ocean horizon! Wisdom tree is a place I return to quite often in my art projects. It was first shown in Twin Flames with a set of twins named, Lina and Erica, who I had met just before we started the hike. There was a lot of trust there. Second time was to photograph Tara, the Four of Cups, for Smoke and Mirrors. Part of me felt bad we had to hike to make the portrait, and the other half felt it was the perfect place as I knew she liked nature and have not been before. I met Tara at the San Pedro ceremony from the first time I ever visited Wisdom Tree so it felt like a full circle closed loop. Now, here we are with Maria, who is also a twin, for the third and definitely not final time making art here! The day after this portrait I met her sister Xenia in Canada to make the twin connection span between countries. We hiked to the top and sat for a while watching the sun set. A perfect way to say goodbye to the city I used to call home. Wisdom Tree my old friend, until I see you again.
