While photographing some neighborhoods in Palm Springs, we encountered this woman walking her poodles. Normally quite shy of approaching people, I asked with no hesitation if I could take a picture of them. I knew the regret of not asking would be worse than being told no, for a scene like this. She kindly said yes, and added that they get asked that a lot. This felt as quintessentially "Palm Springs" to me as a midcentury modern home with a classic car parked in the driveway.
