Colors Of Tradition
The Divine Love Story of Eternity
This digital painting is an example of Madhubani art, a traditional Indian art form sometimes referred to as Mithila art. The origins of Madhubani painting are rooted back in the ancient city of Mithila, the birthplace of Sita, the daughter of King Janak. The king commissioned these paintings to celebrate his daughter's marriage to Lord Rama of Ayodhya. It continues to become more popular as a domestic art form, mostly due to societal practices and traditions. This painting depicts Lord Krishna and Radha, who have always been portrayed as a symbol of pure love, devotion, and friendship in Indian culture. Their love story is often interpreted as eternal and majestic.
This folklore art was exhibited by HUG and Unfold Gallery in Miami on the 8th of December during Miami Art Week 2023.
