If pretending to be someone gives us the strength to keep going, are we really pretending? Maybe the Fake Queen knows her crown means nothing. She knows there is no kingdom behind it, no real throne beneath her. She knows the confidence she wears is partly a performance. But what if that performance is what keeps her standing? What if pretending to be fearless helps her survive the moments when she is afraid? What if wearing strength long enough slowly teaches her how to become strong? Maybe we donโ€™t always become something before we begin to act like it. Sometimes we act like it first. We borrow a version of ourselves that doesnโ€™t fully exist yet, and we live inside her until, little by little, she becomes real. So perhaps the crown is fake. Perhaps the queen isnโ€™t. And maybe Fake Queen was never really about pretending to be a queen. Maybe it was about becoming one.
