You may never know how dark it was for me. There were days when I was searching for light too, when parts of me were still lost somewhere in the dark. But I never wanted you to feel that darkness. So whenever I found even the smallest piece of light, I saved some for you. I gave it to you while I was still hurting. I held it out to you while I was still trying to find my own way. Maybe you thought I was standing in the light. I wasn’t. I just loved you enough to make sure my darkness never took away from yours. And even when I didn’t have much left, I saved you some light.
