Discarded plastic dissolves under heat, its structure undone; gathered again by hand, it becomes a web-like texture. Here, unmaking is not an ending but the condition of a new making. Each layer carries the trace of the one before it, and no moment is complete in itself. In Ibn Arabi’s thought of tajalli, being shows itself anew at every moment. The warm light at the center of the calm blue ground is such a moment: not lasting, but new each time.
