Somewhere Near the Church at Auvers
Somewhere Near the Church at Auvers
This one came from a walk that never really happened.
I imagined finding it, this church, or organ, or whatever it wants to be - way out past where anyone would normally go. No path. No sign. Just there. Overgrown, quiet, half-forgotten.
The strange part is, when I got close, the inside of it was painted like the night sky. Stars, where no one would ever see them. Like it was built for something, or someone, that never showed up.
I kept thinking about Van Gogh's Starry Night while making this. Not trying to copy it just that same feeling. A small structure, standing alone, under a sky doing all the moving and all the feeling for it.
It doesn't play. No one's around to play it. But it still feels like it's waiting for someone.
