We Are Still Here
Beneath the broken sky,
beneath the walls that have witnessed
too much pain,
a people gather.
They carry a flag
where others carry silence.
Red for the blood that was shed,
black for the grief they carry,
white for the hope
they refuse to bury,
and green for a homeland
that lives within them.
They have lost homes,
loved ones,
pieces of the lives
they once knew.
Yet they stand.
Not because the pain is gone,
but because they refuse
to let the world forget their names.
Palestine is still here.
Its people are still here.
And their story is still being told.
