"Double" Day #18/365 Dlawr: Photo a Day 2024 I went for a walk by myself today. I walked for what felt like a mile down a winding road. I don't know if the houses were abandoned or just barns. Maybe both? I only passed two people along the way. I saw mountain goats, rain, and many birds. I've photographed birds a lot in the last couple of weeks, so I didn't want to overdo it. But at the same time, I couldn't resist. A good shot is a good shot, ya know? A few hours later we decided to check out a hotel in town that has been there since 1907. I had stumbled upon it a few nights prior and wanted to show Julia. The design and atmosphere were perfect. The Swiss are incredible at making things. Who would have thought? We got a drink, played uno, and read magazines. I wanted to take a portrait there, so we made it happen. When we got back to where we were staying I started editing the photos. As soon as I got to the bird photos I knew I had to combine one of the portraits of Julia. So, I pulled it in to photoshop, and VOILA. I try not to manipulate my work too much, but the idea was too good to resist!! A huge part of this project is to just explore and play.
