Hanger
In this work, I wanted to capture the moment of suspension rather than movement or change.
There is only one object — a heavy, natural stone — floating above a cold, empty space. I intentionally kept the background minimal and quiet, because I did not want anything to compete with the presence of the stone itself. The surface beneath it is not clearly defined, and there is no visible horizon. I wanted the viewer to feel that this object exists outside of a specific place or time.
The stone is rough, heavy, and natural. Its weight is visible even though it is not touching anything. I used soft lighting and very subtle shadowing to emphasize the tension between gravity and absence of gravity. The small distance between the stone and the ground is important — it represents a state of hesitation.
This work is not about falling or flying.
It is about being held in between.
