The heavy, marble silence of history sometimes takes my breath away. Whenever I look at the perfect geometry of the pyramids or the unwavering, arrogant gaze of the pharaohs, I feel as if a colossal cloud of dust is settling upon me. In this work, I wanted to shatter that untouchable sanctity with my own hands. I deliberately severed the arms and torso of the statue, leaving the bottom to melt like a dripping candle. For the past, as much as we try to confine it to a mold, is actually liquefying from within and slipping through our fingers. Right in the middle of that immense seriousness, beside those ancient and cold hieroglyphs, I placed a colorful lollipop. This is not a game; it is my way of confessing to myself that those mighty staffs that shook the world for millennia hold no more sway than a piece of candy in the infinite silence of the universe. The galaxy and the rotating rings in the background are like the iris of a giant eye watching us... We are ancient ruins melting in this cosmic void, clutching our colorful toys. When the video ends, I wanted a strange, bitter taste of stone and sugar mixed together to remain in your mind, rather than the glory of an empire.
