This connects the two, providing for a living, ongoing conversation and record of events in an alternative reality, furthermore showing the similarities between “real life” and “synthetic life”. I'd argue all life – including alternative realities – are “real life”, especially since the nature of life itself has come under increasing scrutiny. Both pieces – Still Life and no1's bizz - were spontaneous, done in the midst of real-life work in the 'metaverse', or what I prefer to refer to as a “digital alternative reality (on or off of the blockchain)”, or DARB for short. I say both are real, and that work is work, no matter what reality it's in. I'm sure there are folks who have labored in dreams, for example. In closing, I'll say that as a devout DARB enthusiast, it was perhaps after two years of being in the metaverse when I realized the capacity for automatic art.
