Completed in the early 1950s, this building with its classical portico and lion sculptures still dominates Ardzinba Avenue. It served as a cinema and theater for decades until it was severely damaged in the conflict in 1992 and abandoned. A “lost place” of monumental, sad beauty, whose architecture has survived decay.
