I don’t fear
Fear rarely comes from what we see. It’s born earlier, from what we were already told to fear. And so we inevitably inherit other people’s fears as easily as a name or a native language, without choosing, without checking, just taking it on faith.
The hardest thing is to let yourself doubt someone else’s verdict enough to look again.
