Four Elements, Water
Four Elements, Water
Composed from the paintings : Hope, Clarity, Depth, Faith, Escape, Water
Water has always meant hope to me, the blue my brush knows best.
It is the blue you move toward when there is nothing solid left to stand on, the element you cannot fight and win, only trust. And everything on this cube rises out of that trust. Hope is the water itself: the light on the surface, the leaning toward a far blue shore not yet in sight. Clarity is the gift it gives when it goes calm, the moment you can finally see clean to the bottom of a thing. Depth is what that seeing asks of you: the cold pull downward, the questions that only widen the further you sink. Faith is the letting go, trusting the water to carry what your arms can no longer hold up alone. And Escape is where the current takes you: the open horizon, the leaving, the proof that another life is reachable from here.
No one meets these in turn. To hope is already to risk the depth; clarity is what you bring back from going under; every leaving begins as an act of trust. It is all one blue.
Let the surface break and the water remakes itself: clarity where the depth was, the far shore swung around, a current that has never run this way and won't be followed back. What pulls at you now is one stretch of open water, and it is already moving on.
None of this is really about the sea. It is about hope, the kind you can only reach by trusting something wider than yourself to hold you, and how that blue never closes over the same shape again.
