At the foot of Breiðamerkurjökull, we spent countless hours exploring the area known as Treasure Island, the very source of the legendary Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Towering walls of ice continually calve into the lake, releasing massive icebergs that drift out toward the sea. Standing on the black sand shore, gazing at the glacier, you feel like you've landed on another planet, bound to it by a silent, intimate connection. I loved playing with the smaller icebergs scattered across the beach, using them to craft fleeting, otherworldly compositions that could never be repeated.
