Hymn for the Vanished
They sit in rows, faces painted—
Dreams unwound beneath flickering neon gods.
Laughter spills like gasoline,
Flammable, fleeting, forgotten.
The engine hums a hymn for the lost,
A broken choir on borrowed time.
Eyes fixed on somewhere else,
Somewhere that doesn’t exist—
Yet they’ll drive until it burns.
The night holds them tight,
Green doors rusting,
And the silence between words
Says everything they refuse to.
