Held Horizon

The right to exit: control internalised as distance from exit
The sea is fully visible, but not directly accessible. A threshold operates through framing rather than force. The window offers a permitted view outward while maintaining distance and control. Freedom appears as scenery: something to look at, not something to enter from here.
The structure decides how the horizon is experienced: who may approach it, and under what conditions. Below, figures move along a prescribed path that runs parallel to the water rather than toward it, present but held at a remove.
The threshold is psychological as much as physical. What is offered is not passage, but reassurance: an exit that exists, yet remains carefully in place.
