Between daydream and midnight, an endless staircase rises through the clouds, turning upon itself like a thought that refuses to end. In one image, the air is pale and luminous, the sky washed in soft light, as though morning has just remembered how to breathe. Antique mirrors drift beside the steps like forgotten doors, each one holding a different season: spring trembling in pink blossom, summer glowing gold, autumn burning in amber silence, winter resting under silver frost. The staircase feels impossible yet inviting, a path toward memory, longing, and transformation. In the second image, the same staircase survives beneath the night. Moonlight spills over each step, sharpening its edges in blue-white glow while clouds deepen into mist and shadow. The floating mirrors no longer feel merely decorative; they become portals, haunted and tender, preserving fragments of warmth against the dark. Their seasonal reflections pulse like separate worlds suspended in the sky, reminding us that time does not move in a straight line but circles, returns, and reflects. Together, the two images create a single surreal landscape of ascent: one half lit by hope, the other by mystery, both asking whether the climb leads upward into heaven, inward into memory, or endlessly back into the self. Medium: Creative prompt was first chosen and corresponding code generated with chat GPT to be implanted into p5.js and multiple images were formulated. These images were then implemented into Transient Juno lab and modified to create an interactive scene Artist Bio: Ellie Yin is a first year Biochemistry major at UCLA. For the most of her time, she has a strong academic focus on STEM and biological theories along with wet lab techniques learning. Outside of major disciplines, she is interested in vibe coding and digital media’s creativity in formulating artworks rapidly. Although with no previous experience, she is excited about using programming and technology to artistically express abstract topics such as philosophy and visual arts. Artist Statement: Humanitarian and philosophical concepts such as time are often unseeable and can only be physically quantified by variables such as time or materialistically clocks and watches. However, I want to try my best to capture the feel of such an abstract time. I tried to place some key characters that we ‘feel’ instead of numerical values, such as the “repeatedness”, “never ending” emotions that sprout, and as we look up, the seasons have changed.
