The split second before something disappears beneath the water. The whale is leaving. The light is fading. But for one instant it is completely visible, caught between two worlds. I was thinking about presence when I made this. How something can be enormous and powerful and still vanish without warning. I painted every element by hand using Procreate and minted the finished piece on the Ethereum blockchain. It exists permanently, verifiably, on chain, which felt right for a painting about things that disappear.
