"I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night." — Sarah Williams Midway through my trip, exhaustion caught up with me, and I reluctantly decided to stop at a quiet lodge to spend the night instead of pushing on to the next destination. Looking back, nothing happens completely by chance. Deep in the quiet back corner of the camp, I spotted this ancient tree. And unplanned stop turned into one of the absolute best shots in my collection. P.S. I still had to struggle with a huge amount of mosquitoes while trying to sleep - making it one of the worst nights ever... Photo by Alexander Seleznyov May 15, 2026 - Quiver Tree Forest, Namibia
