Impressions from Japan
Evening Stroll
This work is a biomorphic impression inspired by a fleeting scene encountered during my recent journey through Japan, just outside the Old Mitsui Family Shimogamo Villa in Kyoto. A red torii gate rests quietly within a narrow township alley, framed by traditional Japanese homes and softened by lush green vegetation in the background. Figures drift in and out of the space most notably two women returning home from their evening walk unfolding as a familiar ritual.
Architecture, movement, and nature converge in quiet harmony, forming a composition that feels both intimate and timeless. The artwork captures not the scene as it was, but as it lingered an everyday moment suspended in time and reinterpreted through my own abstract, biomorphic language.
