Zenvo TS1 GT
The Zenvo TS1 GT (2016) is a limited-production hypercar manufactured by Danish boutique automaker Zenvo Automotive, unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show as a grand-touring evolution of the Zenvo ST1. Designed by Christian Brandt and built in Præstø, Denmark, the TS1 GT combines extreme performance with refined road usability, positioning it as a competitor to hypercars like the Bugatti Chiron and Pagani Huayra. A one-off “Sleipnir” edition, celebrating Zenvo’s 10th anniversary in 2017, adds further exclusivity with its Norse mythology-inspired Fjord Blue and copper livery. At its heart, the TS1 GT features a bespoke 5.8L twin-supercharged V8 engine, derived from a GM architecture but heavily modified in-house, delivering 1,104 hp (823 kW) at 7,100 rpm and 1,139 Nm (840 lb-ft) of torque at 5,500 rpm. The mid-rear-mounted engine, positioned lower than in the ST1 to improve the center of gravity, powers the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with helical-cut dog gears, offering near Formula 1-speed shifts. A Torsen limited-slip differential enhances traction, while double wishbone suspension with adjustable shocks and composite anti-roll bars ensures precise handling. The car features a hydraulic front-axle lift system for 50 mm of extra ground clearance, making it practical for road use. Carbon-ceramic brakes (395 mm front, 380 mm rear) with six-piston aluminum calipers provide exceptional stopping power.
The TS1 GT’s chassis combines steel and aluminum for rigidity, with a lightweight carbon-fiber body contributing to a curb weight of 1,580 kg (3,483 lbs). It rides on forged aluminum wheels (19-inch front, 20-inch rear) fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S or Cup 2 tires (265/35 ZR19 front, 345/30 ZR20 rear). The car achieves 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.0 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 375 km/h (233 mph), rivaling top-tier supercars of its era. Its aerodynamic design, with a large front grille and sleek profile, generates significant downforce while maintaining grand-touring comfort.
The interior is a bespoke masterpiece, requiring nearly 8,000 man-hours to complete, with carbon-fiber and Alcantara finishes on the dashboard and central console. Carbon-fiber bucket seats, an Alpine audio system with Bluetooth, and a minimalist infotainment setup with a central display prioritize driver focus. The “Sleipnir” edition elevates this with copper and rhodium switchgear, costing ~$184,000 alone, creating a luxurious yet purposeful cabin. Unlike its track-focused TSR and TSR-S variants, the TS1 GT emphasizes road-biased refinement, with features like climate control and a quieter cabin.
Priced at ~$1.2 million (€1.24 million), the TS1 GT is limited to 5 units per year, with the “Sleipnir” one-off being a collector’s gem. Its production run (2016-2019) was succeeded by the TSR-GT and Aurora models, but the TS1 GT remains a landmark for Zenvo, showcasing Danish engineering and resilience after the ST1’s Top Gear mishap. Its blend of raw power, bespoke craftsmanship, and striking design makes it a compelling choice for collectors and enthusiasts seeking a rare, emotive hypercar.
