The echo of the occult
In this work, the human body becomes a canvas of contradictions: the organic and the artificial intertwine in a play of masks and overlapping skins. The face, covered by a metallic mask, reflects the tension between identity and concealment, while the bluish skin evokes a distant, almost spectral cold.
The hand, firm and exposed, holds the reddened shape of a heart, a symbol of the visceral, the raw, and the true. The strokes and splashes of color—yellows, blues, and blacks—erupt like bursts of emotion, cracks in the polished surface of the mask, reminding us that the repressed always finds its way out.
The contrast between the sensuality of the naked body and the rigidity of the disguise raises an essential question: how much of what we show is authentic, and how much is a carefully sustained fiction? The piece invites us to look beyond the artifice and recognize the fragility hidden behind every gesture of control.
