What is "The Matryoshka Experiment"?
"The Matryoshka Experiment" by Osinachi is a five-day dynamic art project designed to remind the crypto art space about artist royalties and explore collector behavior. The project features five unique artworks, each minted as an edition of five, representing the five layers (dolls) of a Matryoshka.
What is the artwork based on?
The designs featured on the five Matryoshka dolls are taken from five of the seven legendary edition pieces in the artist Osinachi's pfp collection, Across the Face (ATF).
How does the drop and chain reaction work?
The entire project operates as a controlled, cascading chain reaction based on sales:
Phase 1: Initiator: The first five collectors purchase the initial artwork, which is minted as an edition of 5 at 0.5 ETH on Transient. The successful sale of one edition triggers Phase 2.
Instant Airdrop: Upon buying, the collector is instantly airdropped the unique artwork for the next phase (the secondary piece).
The 24-Hour Choice: The collector has 24 hours to decide whether to keep this airdropped piece or sell it exclusively on Raster.art
What is the specific pricing and royalty structure for each phase?
The price for each subsequent phase is fixed and decreases by 50% from the previous sale price.
Am I required to sell the airdropped piece?
You are not strictly required to sell the piece, but collectors are strongly encouraged to sell their secondary pieces to keep the chain going and allow the experiment to progress through all five phases. The experiment relies on these sales to trigger the subsequent phases.
How is collector uniqueness defined?
Each wallet address counts as one unique collector for this experiment.
Phase 1: Initiator
Phase 2: Secondary Initiator
Phase 3: Chain Link
Phase 4: Inner Core
Phase 5: Terminator
