Merging the disciplines of photography, sculpture, and installation, this project continues the exploration of portals as symbols of transcendence and gateways to other realms.
Set within the snow-covered Andes Mountains, the portals exist both in contrast and in harmony with the landscape, creating an interplay between the organic and the constructed, the natural and the supernatural.
Rooted in the conceptual and material traditions of artists such as Robert Smithson and Richard Serra, the work transforms the landscape into a site of inquiry and contemplation. Its surreal presence evokes ancient myths of passage and transformation, connecting the work to universal themes of time, space, the elements, and the unknown.
Artist Statement
I work across photography, sculpture, installation, video, sound, and artificial intelligence to explore questions of origin, memory, time, and consciousness. Drawn to thresholds, portals, monoliths, and distant horizons, I create works that inhabit a space between myth and geology, where time dissolves into immensity.
Grounded in experimentation, reflection, and ancestral awareness, my practice engages with our relationship to the landscape and the universe.
Time in my work is not linear; past and future coexist within the same atmosphere. Through minimalism, abstraction, and geometry, I create spaces that invite stillness and alter perception, opening onto an interconnected cosmos and the unknown.
