Killer Acid and Vodnik first connected over their mutual love for Cryptoadz, DickButts, and other pixel art collections. The suggestion came about to create a PFP collection, translating classic Killer Acid characters into pixel form. The collection also includes trippy op-art backgrounds provided by Sierra Siemer, a frequent Killer Acid collaborator.

Many of the characters are the little doods found scattered and hidden in Killer Acid drawings. Hundreds of traits and 3,000 doodles later, No Bad Trippers was born, meticulously crafted by the hand of Vodnik, a pixel-placing goblin, a bog creature, and full-time psychedelic enjoyoor.

The phrase is meant to be a double entendre. On one hand, it's a mantra to ward off bad vibes. On the other hand, it's about getting on an airplane, or an alien spacecraft, and taking a trip with no regrets. The No Bad Trippers are akin to Machine Elves, a term coined by Terence McKenna. They are beneficent entities one encounters upon consuming the requisite amount of Dimethyltryptamine, more commonly known as DMT. No Bad Trippers want to help you have a good time, have a nice trip, and live a good life.
