Forgotten Relics Part II
Forgotten Relics Part II" is a captivating series by renowned Nigerian artist Osinachi. Showcased as part of his solo exhibition, "Iconoclast," with Kate Vass Galerie at the Digital Art Mile during Art Basel 2025, the collection explores pressing ecological concerns by imagining a future where robotic versions replace extinct common pets.
Created during his prestigious residency at the Rockefeller Bellagio Center in Italy, each piece in the series captures Osinachi's signature use of bold colors and expressive, often minimalist, figures. The art draws viewers into an empathetic world filled with environmental caution but with very little, if any, dystopia. Rather than a bleak future, Osinachi presents a poignant reflection on loss and the potential for a new kind of connection.
The series is a testament to Osinachi's innovative process: all works were created using Microsoft Word. With this word processor as his canvas, he combines traditional digital tools with unconventional methods, challenging the media and conventions that have defined classical art. This unique approach not only highlights the tension between the past and the present in our rapidly transforming world but also serves as a powerful statement that art can be made with any tool.
