awhurst on shape
shifting shape of beginning
beneath the stillness,
the mountain fractures,
soft edges dissolving in the lake’s quiet breath.
light leans into the water,
and what was solid becomes question,
rippling, yet unchanged.
here, the dawn is not a moment,
but a passage —
a shape that forms itself again,
always on the verge of becoming.
