Copper Giloth Commissions
FIELDS SERIES: FIELDS #17
The FIELDS drawings were my last series of plotter drawings from the 1980s. I created 32 drawings composed of a discrete set of objects, video images, and equations - the vocabulary I had developed in my three earlier series. Each drawing represented a different combination of the basic elements and reflected my state of mind during the four months they were created. I would start with an image; then, after several passes through the computer, I would hang it up on the wall and begin another. I would take this next drawing as far as I could, display it on the wall, and then start a new one or take down an earlier piece to continue working on it. Eventually, I would date each drawing once it was completed to my satisfaction.
