Race to Freedom
We looked at the horizon and declared it was not enough. There had to be more to life than survival. We seek meaning, dignity, love, and so much more.
So we began to run. Chasing a feeling that always seemed ahead. Like the wild horses, guided by instinct with no destination. Some called this the pursuit of happiness. To others, it was the desire to never be caged; like the woman freed from society's limitations. Or the African, refusing to inherit the chains of prejudice. We run because we must. Not because freedom is a promised land to reach, but a way of life we are all called to live.
