"Internal" began during the war as an exploration of what remains after pain has no longer got a visible source. Trauma does not necessarily end when the event that caused it does. Pain can become internalized, settling into the body, memory, and perception of the world. What was once external can become part of one's internal landscape, continuing to shape a life long after the original wound has disappeared. The works in this collection—both physical and digital—explore this lingering aftermath: the invisible traces of experiences that remain within us, even when everything outside seems to have returned to normal.
