‘One more bite’
‘ Marshmallow Execution’
Fluffy assassins, pink and white,
melt on the tongue, then own the night.
One more cloud, then ten, then twenty
sugar floods the veins like mercy.
Marshmallow unicorns prance in view,
horns of candy floss, sparkling blue.
They whisper soft, “Come home with us,”
hooves of spun sugar, sweet and treacherous.
Sweet rot blooms behind the smile,
teeth decay while arteries file
for the final, sticky guillotine.
Death tastes like cream, soft and clean.
Too much bliss, and bliss executes
a sugary noose in velvet boots.
I’ve created this artwork in ai as medium employing my modern touch to The Rococo Era (mid-18th century French court culture), with a heavy sprinkle of modern Surrealist whimsy.
This piece is pure Rococo modern fever dream, think Fragonard and Boucher reimagined by a candy-obsessed Tim Burton or a pastry chef on acid.
Why Modern Rococo nails it:
• The silhouette & aesthetic: The woman’s powdered wig, corseted pink gown with bows and lace, décolletage, and theatrical pose scream Marie Antoinette’s Versailles. Rococo loved pastel pinks, excess, froth, and playful sensuality.
• The vibe: Over-the-top decoration, floating confections, clouds of sugar, and impossible fantasy, classic Rococo escapism. The era was all about fête galante scenes, cherubs, and turning life into a luxurious, frivolous party.
• The dark wink: That giant marshmallow guillotine? Peak Rococo irony, the aristocracy literally playing with the symbols of their own impending doom while eating cake (or in this case, infinite floating marshmallows)
