‘One more bite’
‘The last toast”
I popped the cork on vintage Dom,
A thousand bucks—poof!—now gone.
Bubbles sprayed like a fountain show,
Soaking the table, glasses, head to toe.
We clinked and cheered, “To epic nights!”
While my credit card screamed for rights.
Oh, bubbly champagne, you fizzy flirt,
Twirling on tongues in a sequined skirt.
Fizzy whispers of instant bliss,
Yachts and jewels, one slippery kiss.
Yet wars snarl hungry at the gate,
Famines waltz in with empty plates.
Recession giggles, sharp as a blade,
Tomorrow’s hangover won’t be delayed.
So here’s to your last toast, Stock the pantry before the lights go down!
Pop the cork and stock the pantry lest you won't be hungry in the storm. Live joyfully and boldly today, but don't be reckless. Prepare wisely for tomorrow's challenges. It's a modern proverb-style warning against pure hedonism or living only for the now, wrapped in elegant, slightly dark luxury.
