i wanna be you
“I Wanna Be You” tells the story of the desire to become someone we admire—not because we hate ourselves, but because we feel there is a part of them that is missing within us.
Two children play in a puddle, whilst another figure stands far behind them, as if a shadow of the life they long for. The circle of water symbolises the boundary between who we are now and who we want to be.
The red scribbles appear like fragments of memory: of loss, longing, and the desire to return to the ‘me’ I once was.
Ultimately, ‘I Wanna Be You’ is not just about wanting to be someone else. It is about losing oneself, longing for something we once had, and continuing to search for the person we believe can make us whole again.
