This portrait of Mark Zuckerberg shifts the focus back on the man who has been watching and tracking all of us. Zuckerberg built the largest surveillance apparatus in human history and convinced more than three billion people to install it voluntarily. Every photograph uploaded, every connection mapped, every interaction tracked and catalogued. Gone are the days of phone calls and written letters. Humanity is glued to their devices and this is the person responsible. What started as a way to connect has devolved into a tool for control and influence. He has created a structure through Facebook / Meta that shapes culture, politics, and the overall human perception. ‘Tech Epochalypse - Decentral Eyes' embodies my latest development in kinetic 3D interactive art. I created these works as a result of a reaction to the physical magnetic portraits I have been developing. All elements can be repositioned in 3D space, allowing the collector to explore not only the visual aspects of the elements but also how they overlap, juxtapose, and contrast to each other in an ever-shifting composition. The work can be seen in two of my favorite views, classic 3D side-to-side parallax shift, as well as 3D camera movement. All works are made with code and collage. The theme of the series centers around today’s technology overlords who have created systems of innovation, spooling power and with it a huge amount of control and influence.
