shattered like dry pasta
under a leased car delinquent on payments
on the road outside a
fast food restaurant
its goslings crossed over their mother’s remains
eating deep-fried versions of themselves
in the field next to the road
drivers holding value menu items
didn’t notice the mess
and their wheels
turned feathers into asphalt
the goslings didn’t care for flight anyway
