Confession
Some truths are not meant to be spoken, because the moment they are given a name, they become impossible to escape. We spend our lives burying the parts of ourselves that frighten us—the thoughts we deny, the desires we condemn, the memories we pretend no longer belong to us. Yet nothing truly disappears. What is buried simply learns how to whisper.
Perhaps confession was never about asking for forgiveness. Perhaps it was about standing before the truth without trying to make it beautiful, innocent, or acceptable. To confess is to surrender the version of yourself you created for the world, and to face the one that exists when no one is watching.
There are things within us that are neither good nor evil. They simply are. And maybe the darkest part of being human is not having shadows, but knowing exactly where they come from—and choosing to look at them anyway.
In the end, every confession carries the same question:
If the truth changed nothing, would you still have the courage to tell it?
