Ever been told to “buy bread” as a Nigerian traveler? It’s a loaded phrase, and so is this artwork – the second in my Forgotten Relics Part II series. Imagine a future where the vibrant African Grey parrot is a mere mechanical echo; then consider the present where the beloved Oha leaves (African Rosewood), vital for our delicious soup, is on the brink of vanishing. This piece is a journey, urging us to deeply connect with the plants and animals that maintain our ecological harmony. Created during my time at the Rockefeller Bellagio Center in Italy (February, 2025), and exhibited by Kate Vass Galerie as part of "Iconoclast", my solo show at the Digital Art Mile during Art Basel 2025.
